1. How does airbrush tanning work?
Airbrush tanning is a simple and quick process. Jade Glow has a mobile airbrush tanning machine, and a large pop-up tent that takes less than a few minutes to setup. The machine plugs into the wall, and starts. The person being airbrushed steps into the tent, and the process begins. After applying the solution, we use the machine to blow dry you off, then you are done, and ready to enjoy your tan! Tan will develop fully after 12 hours.
2. What is the difference between airbrush tanning and spray tanning?
Airbrush tans are applied by an individual. The application is very precise and custom to the body type. You can choose among three different levels with ten different shades to give the best color that is most natural for your skin type, and contour options available as well. An airbrush technician asks you to stand certain ways to deliver the best application.
Spray tans are applied by a machine. A large overspray is applied onto the body, on the front and back. Although not as detailed and shade specific, the solution will give you a tan. Spray tans will cost you less because of the lack of precision, while airbrush tans will cost more.
3. How long does an airbrush tan last?
Airbrush tans typically last 7-11 days with proper preparation and aftercare. Healthy, hydrated skin will hold results longer and achieve color faster. Jade Glow uses a tanning solution by Infinity Sun, which is designed to provide an even tan, but the porousity of the skin varies and may effect skin types differently.
4. What should I wear during my airbrush tanning?
During an airbrush tan you should wear mesh under garments, or women are welcome to go nude. You are also welcome to wear dark colored swimwear, whichever you feel comfortable with, but we recommend the first two options. Jade Glow will provide you with the following when you tan: mesh underwear garments (male or female), hair net, sticky feet, eye protection and nose filters, which are optional.
5. What should I wear after my airbrush tan?
After your airbrush tan, it is best to wear loose fitted, long dark clothing, and slip on shoes or flip flops. Avoid zippered garments as well.
6. How should I prepare for my airbrush tan?
If you have scheduled your airbrush appointment days in advance, start to exfoliate your skin with a non abrasive exfoliant, a minimum of eight hours beforehand. With salt and beaded exfoliants, use a minimum of 72 hours in advance. All waxing, pedicures, and manicures should be done a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment. You must shower before your airbrush tan to remove sweat, oils, makeups, perfume, deodorants, and lotions. You want to have clean, fresh skin.
After your tan, avoid showering and activities that involve perspiration for twelve hours for best results. After showers, pat dry instead of rubbing, do not exfoliate. Moisturize your skin with water based lotions, avoid oils.

8. Is airbrush tanning safe?
According to the FDA, the risks of airbrush tanning are unknown, if there are any; however, the FDA does recommend that the tanning agent used to give your skin the tanned pigmentation, dihydroxyacetone (DHA), will be used for external uses only.. Airbrush tanning does not deliver the same potentially harmful effects that UV based tanning can cause, and are completely different catergories.

Dihydroxyacetone, or commonly known as DHA, is the most effective ingredient that gives a tan. It is a sugar derivative. DHA reacts with dead skin cells and turns them brown to give your skin a tanned look.
10. Will the airbrush tanning solution stain my clothes and my sheets?
The airbrush tanning solution labeled as bronze, or ultra-dark, will leave the bronze residue on light colored clothes and sheets. This is why we recommend wearing long, dark, loost fitted clothing after your sunless tan. Our solutions that contain the bronzer acts a makeup, which will wash off after your first shower, yet your tan will still remain. Our clear solution will not leave a brown residue.

Sunless tanning gives you a more of instant glow where the tan fully develops after 12 hours, unlike laying in a tanning bed where numerous sessions are needed to get a deep shade.
19. How often should I airbrush tan?
For best results, we recommend 1-2 sessions within 5-10 days to develop your desired color. Maintaining your color is possible with subsequent visits of every 6 – 10 days.
